How can we have our own words? Since the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11th, 2011, Fukushima has been said to have suffered one huge tragedy. However, this is not the case. Each one lives their own life in their own way. Some have been fighting positive battles, others negative struggles, and all experiencing small pleasures once in a while. To tell such everyday circumstances to others, we should be capable of uttering our own words. The Drifting Classroom is a school of literature opened for this purpose. Words of literature are not just those crammed in texts and books. Words that tell a story, words that sing, words that are translated from foreign languages, and words that try to analyze our social system: these words we have outside of everyday life are all your literature. Do please join us, for one day or two this summer, at this school of literature that has no fixed school building.
